Does the Trustee get things I receive after filing?

Generally, no. But the exception is anything you inherit within 6 months of filing, and the amount of Income Tax Refund due you on the date of filing.   In a Chapter 13 if the  Plan does not pay 100%, your tax refunds for the next 3 years.

Future earnings or income are not touched, for a FRESH START.   But what you have a right to receive already when you file, even if its actually coming in later,  is part of the property the Trustee can take.  So if you file today knowing that you are getting a check next week for $1,000,  the Trustee gets that check unless its regular income.
