PERSONAL INJURY

When you suffer a loss because somebody else did not pay attention, the law provides that person who was "at fault" has to make it up to you.  This is America, and so that means they have to pay your "damages".  Usually there is Insurance, which that other person has paid for so that in case of an accident they can keep their personal stuff and the Insurance Company will pay for the damages.

Lawyers got into this picture because when insurance got started, the companies selling it had lawyers write up contracts that set up all kinds of limits and conditions about who, when and for what the insurance would pay.  We call that "coverage", and because the corporations that sell insurance want profit, they use "coverage defenses" to deny claims.  This is why you need your own lawyer.

The big corporations have convinced a lot of people they are the "good guys" and that the bad guys have the lawyers: YOU!  Recently after Katrina, a lot of folks in Louisiana learned a hard lesson: big insurance companies are not in it to be sweet.  If they can avoid paying your claim, its PROFIT, and that's what they want.  So if you want to be protected, GET A LAWYER.
